Dr. John Sekabira is a highly respected pediatric surgeon and one of the founding directors of Paediatric Surgical Foundation Limited (PSFL). He has been at the forefront of pediatric surgery in Uganda for many years and is known for his dedication to improving child health through safe and timely surgical care.

Dr. Sekabira is among the first board-certified pediatric surgeons in Uganda. His vast experience and deep understanding of pediatric surgical conditions have made him a key figure in the country’s health sector. He works at Mulago National Referral Hospital, where he performs specialized pediatric surgeries and trains upcoming medical professionals.

Through PSFL, Dr. Sekabira has been instrumental in leading and supporting several programs aimed at increasing access to pediatric surgery. These include community outreach camps, training and mentorship of Pediatric Surgery Fellows under the COSECSA program, and organizing workshops for frontline healthcare workers. His leadership has helped extend specialized care to children in rural areas who otherwise would not have access to it.

Dr. Sekabira is also passionate about medical education and research. He believes that investing in training and capacity-building is key to reducing the shortage of pediatric surgeons in Uganda. He regularly contributes to academic discussions, publications, and conferences both locally and internationally.

His work with PSFL continues to change lives by offering hope to children with surgical conditions. Dr. Sekabira’s strong commitment, leadership, and mentorship make him a pillar in the fight to improve pediatric surgical services across Uganda.
