Dr. Phyllis Kisa is one of the founding directors of Paediatric Surgical Foundation Limited (PSFL). She is a highly skilled and passionate pediatric surgeon who has dedicated her career to improving the lives of children in Uganda through safe and accessible surgical care.

Dr. Kisa has played a key role in the establishment and growth of PSFL since its registration in 2018. As one of the few board-certified pediatric surgeons in Uganda, she brings both experience and compassion to the mission of providing surgical services to children, especially in underserved communities.

She works at Mulago National Referral Hospital where she performs a wide range of pediatric surgical procedures and mentors young medical professionals. Dr. Kisa is also involved in the Pediatric Surgery Fellowship Program under the College of Surgeons of East, Central, and Southern Africa (COSECSA), helping to train the next generation of pediatric surgeons in Uganda.

Beyond her work in the hospital and classroom, Dr. Kisa actively participates in PSFL’s outreach programs, including surgical camps in upcountry hospitals, community sensitization, and skills transfer workshops for healthcare workers. Her leadership and dedication have been vital in addressing the shortage of pediatric surgical care in the country.

Dr. Kisa believes in teamwork, innovation, and the power of knowledge sharing. Through her efforts, PSFL continues to grow its impact and reach more children in need of life-saving surgeries.
